“If you don’t believe drugs have done good things for us, then go home and burn all your records, all your tapes, and all your CDs because every one of those artists that made brilliant music and enhanced your lives? Rrrreal fucking high on drugs.” – Bill Hicks

Mushroom Nightmares takes this quote of the legendary comic Bill Hicks very literally: a night filled with demented psych and noise. The perfect soundtrack to a mind expanding experience.

Magik Markers (USA)
Ever since its creation in 2001, this Connecticut noise trio has provoked a musical storm. Both literally and figuratively mainly because the performance of Magik Markers’ front woman Elisa Ambrogio has given the band a reputation for its intense and craze live shows. Whereas the band used to limit itself to producing ruthlessly heavy and impenetrable walls of sound, their most recent album Boss reveals the band’s more accessible side. Accused of being ‘sell-outs’ by some, we prefer to speak of an interesting change of musical course of a band that constantly reinvents itself.

Aqua Nebula Oscillator (France/Belgium/Canada)
Aqua Nebula Oscillator was originally founded in Paris by David Spher’Os. In the early days, the band’s trademark consisted of stretched out psychedelic improvisations in the vein of groups like Hawkwind, MC5, Sun Ra and Silver Apples, in combination with an ethnic approach of music. After several splits and reformations, Spher’Os met up with the Belgian DJ Shazzula. In their own words, the most recent Aqua Nebula Oscillator incarnation stands for punkadelic music driven by the aggressive voice of Shazzula, surrealistic lyrics and intergalactic sounds.
