Writer and critic Bruce Sterling is one of the most provocative and original voices in science fiction and technology. Sterling introduced the public to the neo-noir futurism of Cyberpunk with his groundbreaking anthology Mirrorshades (1986) and the alternative-history genre Steampunk, co-authoring The Difference Engine (1990) with William Gibson.
Since then, Sterling has authored numerous novels and non-fiction works, refining a critical voice that combines a deep understanding of technology with a nuanced and entertaining approach to its attendant social and politi-cal realities.
