As can be understood through the title, the film by Jean-Pierre Sens steps away from the theme of (romantic) ‘intimacy’ as we expect it, instead exploring fleeting connections and brief encounters. Relationships become contingencies rather than stable bonds, and we almost feel a sense of intimacy precisely from the fleeting nature of the interactions. Additionally, the film plays with the relationship between the observer and the observed,  as the camera acts less as a fly on the wall, and more as an active but yet suspiciously inert participant, creating a tension-filled confrontation between the filmmaker and the subjects.
