Episode 2 - Solutions: What to Do and What Not to Do

2 December 2007
14:30

Location: Theater Kikker
Sunday afternoon event on art, research, and media phenomena.

This edition features: Problems? Why so serious? Artists, researchers, and do-it-yourselfers have solutions at the ready. The Sunday School offers them a platform. They provide answers to major issues—what can you actually do with DNA?—but everyday, down-to-earth household problems are tackled as well.

2012Architecten present their solution to the waste problem. Jan Jongert demonstrates how our waste can be reused as building material. Utrecht-based Atalanta is unapologetically utopian and has been living sustainably for years. They show how radical openness to change can generate a great deal of joy.
You can do it yourself, too. A designer presents projects in the fields of DIY, hacking, and prototyping. And how should we deal with increasing medialization and bureaucratization? Here, “procedure artist” Martijn Engelbregt lends a helping hand. Further solutions are offered by video artists.

The event is hosted by Klaas Kuitenbrouwer.

Come and leave wiser.
