Utrecht is busting at the seams. The city is growing, and areas that may not yet be on your radar deserve a fresh perspective. The exhibition Wat is dit? (What is this?) explores the role of imagination can play in mapping and understanding urban spaces.
Wat is dit? Invites young Utrecht-based artists to take a closer look at what is already there. Floor van den Bergh, Joost Hutjes, Danique Merkestein, Linne Guldemond, Samantha Vlaming offer perspectives on the malleability of urban space, as well as the raw and unpredictable nature of a city in motion. FAAM observes the urban landscape with care and asks itself: what is this?
Wat is dit? Will be on view from 25 February to 15 March 2026 at IMPAKT – Centre for Media Culture. The exhibition is part of ShareSpace, a program through which IMPAKT has been opening its exhibition space to local initiatives and young curators since 2025.
About FAAM
FAAM is a Utrecht-based organization that connects art and science. FAAM initiates, designs, and facilitates transdisciplinary collaboration between emerging Utrecht-based artists and thinkers. FAAM works closely with cultural and social partners such as the Centraal Museum, the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, Het Utrechts Archief and the GGD Regio Utrecht. These collaborations result in compelling programs and innovative exhibitions that bring artistic and scientific perspectives together, often addressing urgent societal issues.
About ShareSpace
Starting in 2025, IMPAKT opens its exhibition space to local initiatives and young curators, in order for them to produce an exhibition or presentation. Through this programme, IMPAKT offers Utrecht-based and Utrecht-related creatives an opportunity to present themselves.
