Impakt has been gradually expanding its (video)library for the past 20 years to build up a collection that focusses on recent and historic video art. The library consists of both video material and books, mosly in the form of monografies, artist biographies, exhibition overview and festival and other catalogues. It is the goal of Impakt to make its archive more available for interested visitors, students, journalist, etc. Towards this end we are looking for an intern willing tot take on organizing our archive for internal use and external presentation.
You’ll be involded with:
-(Re)organizing videomaterial and literature, in an effort to make it accessible at our headquarters on the Lauwerecht.
-Archiving and processing new material, both videos and books for our archive; integrating them into our database.
-Developing a plan to promote our archive externally, as well as make it as accessible as possible.
You have :
–an affinity with video art and organizing various materials for public and private (office) access.
-a methodical and exact approch to archive work and database maintenance;
-a flexible, social work attitude, willing to take the initiative where possible;
-excellent in communicative skills in English (Dutch interns are also expected to have excellent in communicative skill in Dutch);
–the ability to multi-task–good motivation, eagerness, and are willing to expand your capacities;
