Film Video Archiving

film archive

Since the founding of Impakt in 1988, it has been gradually expanding its (video)library to build up a collection that focuses on recent and historic video art. The library consists of both video material and books, mostly in the form of monographies, artist biographies, exhibition overview and festival and other catalogs. It is the goal of Impakt to make its archive more accessible for interested visitors, students, journalist, etc. We  do this by making selections of the archive public on our online platform IMPAKT CHANNEL and by making connections to contemporary tendencies. To this end we are looking for an intern who is well capable of working with the art theoretic context of the archive and of making this available for public use and external presentation.

–Archiving and processing new material, both videos and books for our archive; integrating them into our database.
–Developing a plan to promote our archive externally, as well as make it as accessible as possible.

You have :

–an affinity with video art and organizing various materials for public and private (office) access.
–a methodical and exact approch to archive work and database maintenance;
–a flexible, social work attitude, willing to take the initiative where possible;
–excellent in communicative skills in English (Dutch interns are also expected to have excellent in communicative skill in Dutch);
