Have you seen the curated video art on our Impakt Channel? We frequently launch new programmes and add new video works of national and international artists, recently made or from our archives. Don’t miss it!

Here’s a pick from some of the programmes that have been launched recently:

Dissecting Mimesis

Breaking the Magician’s Code is so outmoded. Impakt therefore now shifts focus to artists. All secrets of the trade are for the taking in this programme. For everyone who always wanted to know why films make us laugh and cry and scare us: the curtain falls, but new mysteries come to the fore. With work by Emilia Ukkonen, Jack Feldstein and Paolo Gregori.

My Body, A Maze

Having a body is not always easy. The body often is a battle scene of romances, exotic parasites, obscure sexuality and uncertainty. This programme therefore offers useful lessons of life for the future: at last we see the true face of excrement, horse sperm as elixir for eternal beauty, the world-wide lament of adolescents and the recipe for invisibility. With work by Johanna Reich, Clorinde Durand, Steve Reinke & Jessie Mott, Yves Netzhammer, Yuri A and Yves-Marie Mahé.

Authenticity Revisited

The aphorism “Authenticity is dead, long live authenticity!” proves vital in the prolific debate on authenticity in the post-digital age. Authenticity is in the eye of the beholder. There is a general understanding of its meaning, oftentimes based on notions of introspection and soul-searching; some, however, deem the debate altogether irrelevant. However, for a younger generation of artists, new technologies contribute to a new understanding of the scope of authenticity. With work by Sam Smith & Soda_Jerk, Beny Wagner, Dan Rees and João Enxuto & Erica Love.
