Transmediale Festival, Studiogallery, Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Berlin
A collective presentation by Dutch artists Koert van Mensvoort and Floris Kaayk alongside technology philosopher Peter-Paul Verbeek. Kaayk and Van Mensvoort present their views on the changing definitions of what is natural and human using their provocative cross-media projects. They share a vision on futures in post-natural environments where technology and the human body have become inseparable. Devoid of technophobia and technofetishism, Van Mensvoort and Kaayk present the likely and the possible to encourage us to think about the desirable. Peter-Paul Verbeek will contribute to the presentation with an introduction to the ethical and philosophical questions raised by contemporary technological developments and how this interrelates with Kaayk and Van Mensvoort’s work.
Curated by Arjon Dunnewind / Impakt Festival, The Netherlands.
