Impakt Festival 2016 curators Barbara Cueto and Bas Hendrikx have created a book with the publisher Valiz to reflect upon some of the subjects that were discussed during the festival. The book includes texts by many of the speakers of the festival as well as the curators themselves.
The book aims to bring together different thinkers to reflect on the meaning of the authentic now. Authenticity as a process and as a fluid and performative scheme to be enacted at any time—not just in terms of art and art making but flowing into every single nook of contemporary life, from the intimate to the public.
With texts by: Erika Balsom, Franco ‘Bifo’ Berardi, Jazmina Figueroa, Bas Hendrikx & Barbara Cueto, Holly Herndon & Mat Dryhurst, Rob Horning, David Joselit, Oliver Laric, Chus Martinez, Timotheus Vermeulen, Beny Wagner
The book is part of the series called Being Public, published by Valiz, about the public or civil domain and its influence. Other publication in this series include Being Public – How Art Creates the Public, Compassion – A Paradox in Art and Society and Lost and Living (in) Archives – Collectively Shaping New Memories.
The book is now available from €19.90. Buy your copy of Authenticity? – Observations and Artistic Strategies in the Post-Digital Age via this link.
