YOU’RE NOT MY FATHER
PAUL SLOCUM (USA 2007, 4:24 MINS)
The artist searched on the internet for people who were willing to reenact a short sequence from the 1990s TV show “Full House”. He paid them 150 $. These types of re-enactments are abundant on the Internet. Slocum transfers this everyday phenomenon, by essentially hiring actors, and thus blurring the boundaries between professional and amateur. He also changed the original soundtrack for a hypnotic piece that he composed himself using interweave and overlay. BIO: Paul Slocum is a New York-based programmer, artist, curator, musician, former director of new media art 'And/Or Gallery' in Texas and current creator of music and art apps.
