CODE 2021 Webproject

Creating awareness about our digitized society

CODE is a collaboration project between IMPAKT and School of Machines, Making & Make-Believe. During this project, artists, politicians, activists and academics started a dialogue between one another concerning digital agency, rights of the digital citizens but also visibility of minorities. The project asks how we can create awareness about our digitized society amongst politicians and policy makers and what we must do to take the power over our digital rights and data back from the tech companies.

What are the digital rights that we, the citizens, should require and what role should the government play within it? We invited participants to think with us about the current position of the digital sector in the policy-making processes, to develop projects that can help to uncover the power of big tech citizens, politicians and policy-makers and activate these groups to take action.

CODE was made possible with the generous support of Creative Industries Fund NL, Fonds Cultuurparticipatie, Fonds Soziokultur, Goethe Institut & the Dutch Embassy in Berlin, Germany.
