Video: Programme II Jolanda Prinsen and Edward Luyken
Terra terre
“Terra Terre” was the title of a performance given by Jolanda Prinsen in the Lantaarn in Rotterdam. The performance highlights the contradictions that exist between the artificial, formal beauty of, for example, classical ballet, and the natural beauty such as in animals during mating time.

The film consists of 17 parts, each of which itself consists of two elements: one minute of experimental documentary images of a city, followed by a four-minute performance, usually performed by two actors, inspired by a painting measuring 3 by 2 meters. The individual canvases are part of a painting measuring 51 by 2 meters, depicting the 17 cities that are the starting point for the performances.
