Sink or Swim (1990) is a film about a teenage girl describing the childhood events that shaped her ideas about family relations, one of those being the portrait of her father who prioritised his own career over his family.
Su Friedrich (1954), is an American avant-garde filmmaker. Friedrich attended the University of Chicago from where she received a B.A in Art and Art History. Her films include narrative, documentary and experimental styles of filmmaking with specific focus on the role of women, family and homosexuality in contemporary America. She is currently a professor at the Centre for Creative and Performing Arts at Princeton University.
