In this program a connection is made between baroque chamber music and contemporary dance culture. The sublimation of sound and the refinement of musical perception down to the smallest nuances found a historic peak in Baroque in Europe. While the Baroque music consumer focused on the sensory pleasures, today we see a similar ecstatic experience in ‘rave’ culture. Techno project Porter Ricks traces these baroque elements in contemporary music. Techno music and harpsichord, played by the prominent musician Annelie de Man, combined with dance, visual and even culinary experiences, fuse two musical worlds.
