Steve Reinke combines home movies about public events together with documentary material from medical archives about the search for an hormone which boosts masculinity into a now context. The images are edited together to create an intimate story about how people relate to each other, and how society, with all it’s altitudes affects the happiness of the individual. The appended voice-over relates a totally different, more personal story than the medical observations about how a hormone can change a shemale into a real man thereby ensuring him true happiness. Happiness is more than just a hormone, however.
