Larry Kless
(US, 1990, 16 mm, 8:00)
Kless unleashes colourful processing and flickering editing techniques on existing film material. He zooms through advertisement, feature films and scientific images producing a combination of thirst for knowledge, a yearning for discovery, and greed. The microscope, X-Rays and the Space Shuttle are typical instruments of Western expansionism, which is mostly epitomised by the exportation of American culture via satellite TV.
