The Artwork in the Age of its Mechanical Reproducibility

Keith Sanborn

(US, 1996, video, 6:00)

This film is a commentary on the copyrights pertaining to visual material. FBI Warnings become soap bubbles whilst simultaneously problaiming that these very self-same images may not be displayed or distributed amongst the general public. The bored spectator is forced to look at these warnings and listen to appalling muzak, while at the same time the very essence of the images is ripped apart. In conclusion, Sanborn credits all copyrights of this film to other people!
