Pit Przygodda
(Germany, 1997, 16 mm 3:00)
Przygodda filmed the reflections of leafless trees in rippling water, which resulted in images with wavering lines. He then used electronics to convert these images into sounds – broad ripples generated low frequencies, and narrower ripples created higher pitches. The images themselves are captivating enough; beautiful abstract patterns, whose true nature is only made apparent when a twig or a duck floats by.
