This is an abstract animated film made by optically manipulating a hand-painted strip of film. The artist explores the confused perception of lime as experienced in dreams and during the recollection of past events. Encoded in the paint are metaphors and symbols relating to the psyche, peoples’ cultural identity death and reincarnation. The paint is applied directly to the film material itself, which creates an unusual spatial experience and makes the symbols appear to dance in time to the music.
