This film opens with a sequence of shots of treetops and a neo-gothic house which is followed by a group of actors engaged in dubious sexual activities. The images look like they were taken on a set of a film by Jean Rollin or Jesus Franco. Brehm’s interest seems to lie with the ‘before’ and ‘after’ and the entourage rather than with the deed itself.
As with his previous films, Brehm manages to conjure up a powerful atmosphere of anticipation and erotic tension with a sophisticated combination of suggestive images and a restrained soundtrack..
