VINCIT VERITAS

reMI
35MM / 00:10:00 / AUSTRIA / 2002
First abstract work on 35mm film by the Austrian duo, which features typical reMI color spectra, medieval texts and images, but above all very enjoyable optical sound.

THE_FUTURE_OF_HUMAN_CONTAINMENT

Michaela Schwentner
VIDEO / 00:05:00 / AUSTRIA / 2001
Schwentner has created a black amoeba-like shape in front of a white background, which leaves trails in the form of changing grids, which affects the acoustic sequence, (track by Pure).

FIVE

Bas van Koolwijk
VIDEO / 00:03:00 / THE NETHERLANDS / 2002
An entirely abstract video. Van Koolwijk’s work is very minimal and has a clear structure. The video images are stripped of their representation and sometimes limited to “a search for the balance between order and chaos”. The sequences often erode the boundary between signal and a lack thereof. Power techno in image and sound.

SCRUB SOLO 3: SOLILOQUY

Antonin de Bemels
VIDEO / 00:17:15 / BELGIUM / 2001
An examination of the dynamic cohesion between image and sound, and the question of whether the body actually exists as a whole, as an organic unit. The film centers on Bemels’ body as it did in his previous scrub solos.

UTA ZET

reMI
VIDEO / 00:04:30 / AUSTRIA, THE NETHERLANDS / 2001
In their far-reaching urge to experiment, reMI goes in search of the physical experience of color and sound.

LINEAR PHASES

Ian Helliwell
VIDEO / 00:02:00 / UNITED KINGDOM / 2001
Short and compact Super-8 film. The vertical lines of ink on the celluloid are continuously interrupted by a graphic disturbance. This continual struggle is illustrated by a clear electronic sound.

HAUTNAH – SKINFLICK

Thorsten Fleisch
16MM / 00:07:30 / GERMANY / 2002
Filmed investigation of the texture and shape of Fleisch’s hand. The result is an intense image which was created both with and without the camera and is accompanied by an audio scan of Fleisch’s hand.
