In very different ways and in different genres, the films in “Prima Life” deal with interpersonal relationships and life ideals. The word “prima” in the title of the program is certainly meant with a slight irony, because usually it is only at first glance that “everything is okay.” In “Prima Life” we see what lies behind the façade of order and neatness and what happens when rules and fixed patterns are suddenly broken. In her films, Corinna Schnitt carries through the urge for perfection and the attempts to structure life down to the smallest detail and even to the absurd. What at first seems innocent and amusing behavior by her main characters gradually reveals the realization that we are dealing here with neuroses and obsessions. Schnitt is therefore not concerned with this behavior itself, but with the underlying motivations. What certainties do we seek in life? Where does modern man look for happiness? In short: how do we make our lives a “Prima Life”?
