Kanak Attak
Kanak Attak has been active since 1998 in various German cities. They publish and present articles, demonstrations, short films, and performances. Using striking methods, they challenge bourgeois attitudes and authorities.
Members of Kanak TV, one of Kanak Attak’s divisions, take to the streets with a camera and microphone, or enter festive receptions armed with difficult questions. In their work Weißes Ghetto / White Ghetto, they interview residents of the Lindenthal district in Cologne. How do these exclusively white, affluent, “bio” Germans actually integrate into multicultural German society?
For a long time, bold interview techniques and satire have been effective tools against bourgeois norms and authorities. But now that political murders and arson attacks have become everyday occurrences, the question arises whether these methods are still sufficient. Should groups like Kanak Attak adapt their strategies? And is intolerance no longer reserved only for native citizens?
This evening, Milto Oulios, Kanak Attak activist, will address these issues. He will also present and explain the (film) projects of Kanak Attak. The program includes, Weißes Ghetto / White Ghetto and the new Kanak TV docutainment film Recolonize Cologne, in which German colonialism is connected to the drive of contemporary immigrants and refugees for global freedom of movement.
