Opening Concert

Four Icelandic organ players and one drummer. It may sound corny, but the Apparat Organ Quartet creates one of the most catchy and swinging live sounds ever with these ingredients. The group was initially formed to play Reich compositions, but they have continued successfully with compositions of their own, which combine influences that vary from electro-pop to garage rock in an idiosyncratic and retro-futurist manner. Their music could be described as post-Kraftwerk, machine-like rock ’n’ roll with a metal twist, as mysterious vocoder pop, or as danceable electronica that is seriously miswired.
