The Dutchman Thomas Ankersmit is fairly unknown in his own country but his star has been rising in international music for quite some years. His work includes collaborations with minimal drones pioneer Phill Niblock and guitarist and magical producer Jim O’Rourke. His alto saxophone takes us to an unknown and radical sonic territory using a musical language navigating between free jazz and electro acoustics. At the Impakt Festival, he will present a new collaboration with the Italian Giuseppe Ielasi. This guitarist with a love for electronics enjoys combining abstract tonal experiments with melodic song structures.
