In the spring and summer of 2007, Wayne Horse worked as a Resident Artist at Impakt on his latest production, Elefant Boy: "A short film about digging holes, saving time, and a growing black elephant calf." We follow Elefant Boy as he searches for his place in the world, and also meeting his parents, the Haribows, the Freefighter, and the Whilt World along the way. The film combines a variety of techniques (video mixed with drawn and puppet animation) and influences (opera, tell-sell, Mexican wrestling, reality TV, graffiti, cartoons, etc.). At this Impakt event, Wayne Horse will present Elefant Boy. Alongside Elefant Boy, he will also showcase older work. Furthermore, Wayne Horse will explain his sources of inspiration using a selection of clips from cult films and music videos.
During the presentation, Wayne Horse will be interviewed by Bart Rutten (Stedelijk Museum, 's-Hertogenbosch).
