Who Is Afraid of Roee Rosen?

19 May 2019
17:00 — 18:15

Location: IMPAKT Centre for Media Culture

Join us for a conversation and a free drink at 19 May, 17:00! Marcel Schwierin (director of the Edith-Russ-Haus for Media Art, Oldenburg, Germany) and Arjon Dunnewind (IMPAKT Director and curator of Poetry and Catharsis) will discuss the contexts of the often provocative positions Roee Rosen takes in his works, the controversies his work has generated in Israel and elsewhere, and the complex play with personalities that is central to his work.

In 2016 Marcel Schwierin curated with Edit Molnár Roee Rosens solo exhibition Live and Die as Eva Braun and Other Intimate Stories in the Edith-Russ-Haus. He also edited and introduced a collection of short texts by Roee Rosen, which were published by the Edith-Russ-Haus and Sternberg Press on the occasion of his first solo exhibition in Germany. Schwierin will also be part of Spring x Impakt Event: Roee Rosen, Theatre of the Awkward at Stadsschouwburg Utrecht in the evening.

NOTE: If you already have a ticket for Theatre of the Awkward or come visit the Roee Rosen exhibition on May 19th, you can attend Who Is Afraid of Roee Rosen? for free!

At 16:00 Arjon Dunnewind will give a guided tour of Impakt Exhibition: Roee Rosen, Poetry and Catharsis, an exclusive treat not to be missed!

Who Is afraid of Roee Rosen? is organized in collaboration with the Edith-Russ-Haus for Media Art.
