Live Panel: Radicalization by Design
Live Panel at Ars Electronica
Location: IMPAKT main programme online
In connecting us, are social media also tearing society apart? How do trolls, conspiracy theories, memes and fringe platforms impact upon politics today? These are some of the pressing questions that will be central during the special live panel Radicalization by Design, presented by IMPAKT at the Ars Electronica festival (9-13 September 2020).
With experts like Sahana Udupa (Professor of Media Anthropology at LMU Munich), Bharath Ganesh (Assistant Professor Media Studies at University of Groningen), and Richard Rogers (Professor New Media and Digital Culture at the University of Amsterdam) will discuss issues of freedom of speech, extreme speech and deplatforming.
The live panel is a continuation of the cross-disciplinary dialogue in the new web platform Radicalization by Design. It is part of a broader contribution by IMPAKT to Ars Electronica, presenting a survey of contemporary technoculture. Check our website for the full programme..
