“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.”
— Genesis 1:27

In this highly provocative keynote, multidisciplinary performance artist and author Mounir Samuel will uncover the Biblical story of Genesis and the creation of man, showing how problems of today start with our profound misconception of what Adam and Eve is all about. Mounir will investigate the evolving role of man and manhood, the endless power struggle between the sexes and the growing distrust among humanity, which is only aggravated by the digital nature of our age. Mounir advocates a new concept of Adam, not as the first male but as the first human – both feminine and masculine – and uncovers a new trinity of humanity, earth and the divine. The time has come for appeasement between the two sexes, for a new and broader perspective on gender, and for a true understanding of restorative love. This keynote deals with the political as much as the social, culture as much as climate, the past as much as the present, the digital as much as the divine.
