International Art & Wine Tasting Event
Hybrid experience with wine lovers from six European countries
Location: Landhuis Oud Amelisweerd
You are invited to join us on 21 September for the IMPAKT [Centre for Media Culture] International Art & Wine Tasting Event. This informal hybrid art event will connect audience members and participating artists from six European countries across the online/offline divide – while we all enjoy a good glass of wine. Places are limited, so be sure to reserve your spot for this unique celebration of art and wine!
We love wine at IMPAKT – although we’re no experts, we do like to talk about what makes a wine good, or how natural wines are produced. Come along and we will do just that, seated at five tables at the picturesque Oud Amelisweerd estate in Utrecht. Joining online us will be five other tables at art organisations in as many European cities: Antre Peaux in Bourges, France; Werkleitz in Halle (Saale), Germany; Onassis Stegi in Athens, Greece; Kontejner in Zagreb, Croatia; and Laboral in Gijón, Spain. We asked each of them to share their favourite local wine, and we will taste and discuss their selections with wine experts. There will also be inspiring interludes with wine-related artist’s presentations.
This unique experience is part of a series of experiments with new, hybrid formats. Many arts organisations responded to the lockdowns and Covid restrictions by staging online events. With our current return to “normal” in-person activities, we want to explore ways of combining the best of both worlds: the offline and the online. We all missed the direct, personal and intimate casual interactions of live events, but we also experienced the ease, reach and extra possibilities that online formats can have.
Your Master of Ceremonies is Abner Preis, a storyteller working in multiple media – from drawing and performance to installation, video and photography. His work explores trans-media storytelling and the principle of storytelling with “happy endings”. His artistic practice can perhaps best be characterized as the telling of stories with the help of audience participation.
Your ticket grants you a place at one of the five tables at Landhuis Oud Amelisweerd. Wines included.
Doors open at 19:00h
Programme starts at 19:30h
