Below the Spleenicle
Naomi Voet
The Netherlands 2021, 8 minutes
This fever dream dances along the thin line between falling in and out of social norms. To be or not to be a successful civilian. After a warm welcome by the One Trick Pony, the Centaurz inform us about their latest philosophies of love. Lastly, at a cosy intergalactic campfire, we catch up with the one and only Nippy Nappy Joe on the meaning of life. In between the scenes we are accompanied by some fellas with disappearing jobs, from the past and present, stuck in a time loop. Below the Spleenicle is a futuristic folklore tale about how useless and ridiculous, but at the same time comical life can feel. As if you are, in fact, a shit apple on a shit tree.
On Thursday at 21:00h and on Saturday at 20:45, Below the Spleenicle will be played in a loop in Studio 3 of Het Huis Utrecht.
You can walk in anytime during the screening.
