How do we organize the world around us? And more importantly: what does that do to us? The IMPAKT Exhibition: I AM NOT AN ORACLE, curated by Ine Gevers, is an interactive journey through nine artworks that reflect on the major systems structuring our existence – identity, biology, economy, colonialism, climate, technology, religion, and politics.

To make sense of a complex world, we rely on systems. They create order and make coexistence possible. But what was once meant as a helpful tool has quietly begun to shape our reality. I AM NOT AN ORACLE does not claim to reveal the truth, but instead invites you to question the big systems – and your own assumptions – through art installations that serve as playful, sometimes confronting mirrors. Visitors move through the exhibition like players in a game, each installation offering its own perspective and challenging you to look at the world – and yourself – with fresh eyes.

Humor, poetry, play, and imagination help unravel the structures that define our lives. At times this may provoke, at others it may liberate – always with the aim of sparking critical thought and creativity. In doing so, the exhibition reveals how deeply systems shape our self-image, and how we might regain control. The realization of how filtered and pre-shaped our world truly is, becomes both powerful and deeply personal. By the time you leave the exhibition, you might no longer be the same person who entered.

BBB_

― Artist

BBB_ is a technologically advances cross disciplinary music and performance project. Founded by allapopp and Alexander Sahm in early 2015, it works on the intersection of music, performance, art, design, philosophy and digital technologies. The project works in live performance and scenographic installations format, experiments with digital voices, natural language processing, brain stimulating music and interactive visuals. With utopian and dystopian setups, through experimental sound, intense electronic music and spoken words, artists try to confront the spectator with a situation where human and inhuman conditions merge, speculating on various states of mind, relationships and self-perception, altered by socially and emotionally intelligent digital technologies.

Yinzk

― Artist

Yinzk (1998, NL) is a hyper-sentient artist, centring both the body’s senses and one’s feelings. They translate delicate themes such as collectivity, selfhood, the body and societal conditions into cathartic artworks. Their work is coloured by a commitment to collaboration and accessibility, connecting various disciplines and experiences. Yinzk intersects the sacred with the heart and the fantastical with the real in their films, music and performances. Prioritising the extensive portrayal of feelings over words, their body of work reflects their desire to create immersive, personal experiences - ever yearning for the full circle.

Monobanda

― Artist

Monobanda is an award winning studio that explores and expands the boundaries of play and interaction. Their projects connect the human body, physical space and the virtual world in surprising ways, creating new forms of meaningful play that find their way into art, science and education. Their core aesthetic is ‘play’. A state of being that all humans share, and facilitates our best traits, like creativity, communication, motivation and self confidence. Inspired by the social interactions that are found on a playground or in a sandbox, where creativity and imagination run free, they make projects that inhabit the space between the virtual and physical world. This means they always create experiences where people discover something new about themselves through playful behavior. Something that is always both personal and totally universal. They work in hybrid teams where our art is informed, and co-created by scientists, psychologists, care professionals and other experts on the broad spectrum of human experience. Their work ranges from (VR) Games, art installations to workshops and mental healthcare interventions. Play is everywhere after all.

The focus of her work ranges from the position of women, Western hegemony, and humankind’s ambition to control nature. Cristina Lucas was born in Jaén, Andalucía. She holds one degree in Fine Arts from the Madrid Complutense University and a Master on Fine Arts by University of California Irvine. She also attended the Rijksacademie, Amsterdam. Currently she is working on LOVER LOVE, a mixed media installation for Leslie Lohman Museum opening in April 2026.

Shertise Solano

― Artist

“Solano translates her own experiences and visions into dream worlds on a monumental — studio wall–filling — scale. Through these worlds move fairy-tale-like hybrid human–animal figures that evoke associations with a wide range of mythologies and cultures. Her work, she says, represents the truth or reality that already exists within the viewer: it holds up a mirror to you. The figures, rendered in predominantly ritual red, black, and white with strong lines and planes, are at times playful and joyful, and at other times appear menacing, (…).”

Folkert de Jong

― Artist

Folkert de Jong is known for his life-size sculptural groups made of Styrofoam and polyurethane foam, used as insulation in construction, architecture, and set design for the Hollywood film industry. With this atypical material for art, derived from the petrochemical industry, De Jong creates remarkably complex tableaus of grotesque worlds that depict power, violence, disaster, and other disturbing aspects of the human condition. Intrigued by the depths of the human soul, the artist draws the viewer into this world where the bizarre and the vulnerable converge.

patricia kaersenhout

― Artist

Born in The Netherlands but a descendant of Surinamese parents, patricia kaersenhout developed an artistic practice which investigates their Surinamese background in relation to their upbringing in a Western European culture. The political thread in kaersenhout’s work raises questions about the African Diaspora’s movements and it’s relation to feminism, sexuality, racism, and the history of slavery. Their oeuvre is rooted in ancestral memory. It explores hidden and forgotten histories and evokes a shared understanding of the weight and pain of cultural memory, so crudely shaped by colonialism and Western modernity. kaersenhout envisions a world of multiple possibilities and universes to ensure the potential to dream of a world of peace and joy where many worlds can flourish.

The School of Mutants

― Artist
