Elise van Mourik
(CH 2016)
Elise van Mourik’s installation interrogates the balance between situation and scenario. She makes use of 3D design software to give her work a certain ‘model quality’. For this exhibition, she will examine the model in the light of authenticity and its relation to the passage of time. Like text, the model works a priori/a posteriori to a real thing or event; it is the deception of the duplicate, as well as the original. Considering the ‘copy of a word’ as the paradox at play here, the work will deploy a scenario that uses repetition of an instance – a common term in 3D modelling.
