Y. Kozhemyako & M. Skomorokh
Digital Poetry (RU, 2019)
Traveling in an abstract spaceship to strange and mysterious worlds, in Overseas you have to find your own way through the rules and obscure meanings of the environments you intrude. In the two highlighted episodes of the game, with minimalist interactions, you find your place in relationship to the forces thriving in these glitch aesthetics landscapes: SACRED GROVE presents the player with an extinguishing world, barely kept alive with frantic shamanic singing, LA FORÊT lures the player into the shadows of a forest of enchantment and horror. We do not control nature, neither can we keep it at bay, but we may be tolerated if we engage with respect and attempt to understand the forces that rule the world beyond us.
