Mark Leckey

Mark Leckey (born 1964, Birkenhead) is a British contemporary artist, working across sculpture, installation, sound, performance and video. His found object art and video pieces incorporate themes of nostalgia and anxiety, and draw on elements of pop culture. In particular, he is known for Fiorucci Made Me Hardcore (1999) and Industrial Light and Magic (2008), for which he won the Turner Prize in 2008. His solo exhibitions include Tate Britain, London (2019), MOMA PS1, New York (2017), Haus der Kunst, Munich (2015), Serpentine Gallery, London (2011), Kölnischer Kunstverein, Cologne (2008) and Le Consortium, Dijon (2007). His performances have been presented in New York City at the Museum of Modern Art, the Institute of Contemporary Arts, London and at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York City. His works are held in the collections of the Tate and the Centre Pompidou.
