Johannes Heldén, Håkan Jonson (SE 2015-2019)
Encyclopedia uses an artificial intelligence (AI) to generate oneof-a-kind encyclopedic entries for future animal species/ mutations, all made extinct by humanity. The AI prints these entries in editions of one on library catalog cards. These cards are exhibited as stand-alone text pieces and gentle reminders of the state of the planet.
Johannes Heldén― Artist
Johannes Heldén is a visual artist, writer and musician. His interdisciplinary works deals with poetry, ecology, artificial intelligence, sentience and narrative structures. Recent projects include Astroecology, which was published simultaneously in three languages, made into an interdisciplinary performance at The Royal Dramatic Theatre in Stockholm and a digital artwork published by Bonniers Konsthall. He has published seventeen books, four music albums, and seven digital online works of poetry and visual art.
Håkan Jonson― Artist
Håkan Jonson (b.1978) is a programmer, publisher and artist. Lives and works in Stockholm. His previous work includes sound creation, conceptual visual designs, hand-crafted books and paintings. In his digital works he often explores the possibilities of language and artificial intelligence. He is one half of Irrlicht; a publishing house and record company which primary focus is the contemporary art scene. Recent shows include the Riga Biennial, OEI 79 at Moderna Museet in Stockholm, Sweden, Language and the Interface at Coimbra, Portugal, ISEA 2015, Vancouver, Canada.
