Naomi Voet’s (the Netherlands) often surreal and absurdist work mixes uncanny linguistics with peculiar characters engaged in their efforts to get a grip of life. Her animations, the first of which was Below the Spleenicle, draw inspiration from humour mixed into exchanges about sensitive or painful issues in the form of arguments, discussions, conflicts, debates and misunderstandings.
