💗 The SKINSHIP Dating Show 💗
Location: Online Specials
Online participatory performance //
💕 Modern Love wouldn’t be complete without some online dating. Melanie Bonajo and the SKINSHIP collective get you into and out of the hot mess of online dating into this participatory dating show for queers and the respectful curious beyond the binary. How can we put the body online?
Meeting onscreen can seem to be distinct from a bodily experience, yet this bodily experience is at the centre of the human experience, especially when dating. THE DATINGSHOW invites you to rise up from your seat and swipe your body from left to right. Prepare to be played – in a fun way 🥰. Five amazing hosts in various rooms will be your guides for some playful connections, including touch tutorials, sensual sensing quizzes, erotic self dance, celebrating the end of toxic relationships (in a break-out room turned into a break-up room) and lots more.
SKINSHIP, a touch-based place for kinship, is a space for queer, trans, non-binary, intersex, agender and gender fluid people providing workshops around touch and intimacy in Berlin.
Melanie Bonajo― Artist
In her work, Melanie Bonajo examines the paradoxes inherent to ideas of comfort with a strong sense for community, equality, and body-politics. Through her videos, performances, photographs and installations, she studies subjects related to how technological advances and commodity-based pleasures increase feelings of alienation, removing a sense of belonging in an individual. Captivated by concepts of the divine, Bonajo explores the spiritual emptiness of her generation, examines peoples’ shifting relationship with nature and tries to understand existential questions by reflecting on our domestic situation, ideas around classification, concepts of home, gender and attitudes towards value.
