The Netherlands has a reasonable part in the production of unconventional and innovative media art. There is a climate in which artists stimulate and inspire each other, and financial support for the realisation of projects is reasonably easy to find. In order to give an extra boost to the promotion of media art produced in the Netherlands, Impakt this year introduces a new program, Juicy Meadows. The media art featured in Juicy Meadows consists of works produced in the Netherlands that are shown in the presence of the makers. In addition to the professionals that already visit the Festival, Impakt invites several foreign curators and distributors to attend this program in particular. Through these ‘scouts’, Dutch media art can find its way to a greater number of screenings abroad. The works shown in the Juicy Meadows program are also open to regular visitors of the festival.

The programming featured in Juicy Meadows has been made possible in collaboration with the Dutch Institute for Media Art, formerly known as Montevideo / Time Based Arts and the Filmbank, a recently launched initiative to promote Dutch art films.
