With this wine tasting we experiment with new hybrid formats. This means that in designing the event, we have thought of different ways to make sure you and your friends have an engaging, fun experience combining physical and online elements. 

The Hybrid Wine and Art Tasting will take place on Zoom. During the event there will be a main hall for the public parts of the programme: the introductions to each tasting round and the art performances and presentations. The tasting rounds themselves will take place in break-out rooms. You will be paired with other tables to taste and discuss the wines with other participants.

There will be three rounds of tasting. 
In between the tasting rounds you can enjoy two performances and presentations by wine experts. Here you can see the latest updates on the programme and participating artists

Before the event, make sure you buy the wines and check the technical requirements below.

Let’s start with the most important ingredient of the night: buying the wines.

Our Utrecht-based sommelier Guillaume Coret from fijn-proeverij.nl selected two special wines, which are easily available online via the webshop of Gall&Gall.
The third one is up to you: pick a wine of your choice and share your enthusiasm 🙂

Below is a step-by-step guide to get you ready for the evening.

1) What you need:

• Update Zoom (or download if you do not have Zoom yet)
• Stable internet connection – highly recommended to use an ethernet cable.
• Working microphone (built-in or external).
• Working webcam (built-in or external)

2) Getting yourself installed:

• Make yourselves comfy
• Place your webcam so we can see you. **Hint** it is best if you put a few books under your laptop to put your camera at eye-level
• Place your microphone so we can hear you. Don’t sit too far away from your laptop, or bring your microphone close to you.
• Lighting: make sure there is enough light in your room for us to see you through the webcam

3) Join Zoom:

• Make sure in Zoom that you have the correct camera and microphone selected.
  • Camera: Go to “Preferences” → Open “Video” → Under “Camera” there is a drop down menu where you can select the connected Webcam.
  • Microphone: Go to “Preferences” → Then Open “Audio” → Under “Microphone” there is another drop down menu where you can select the microphone.
• Keep your camera on.
• You will be automatically muted in the main hall. Remember to unmute yourself in the break-out rooms

4) During the event:

• We will have multiple rounds. Each round you will be put into a new breakout room. Being moved to a room can take a few minutes– it may prompt you to accept the request to be moved.

You can grab the opportunity to put on some fancy clothes and nicely decorate your table to your taste. Everything goes and it is completely up to you how extravagant (or minimalist) you want to make this. 

Put enough wine glasses on the table and a jug of water for cleansing your palate after tasting. Lastly, make sure to prepare some snacks – because no wine tasting is complete without them. During the event, please make sure that you don’t play any background music – our DJs and artists will provide all the entertainment you need.
