EMARE RESIDENCY 2021: UPDATE #4
The filming of the project has started, two more meetings ahead.
The project is moving forward! Last week, our resident artist Liliana Piskorska (Zeic) started shooting the video part for the “Gently running downwards” project.
Liliana Piskorska (Zeic) is part of the 2021 EMARE residency programme of the European Media Art Platform (EMAP) – a collaboration that brings together 11 European Media Art organizations, co-produced by the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union. The EMARE programme offers yearly residencies to artists working in the fields of digital media. Read more about EMARE here.
The installation that Liliana is working on will be an audiovisual piece that uses traditional kids games as a form of expression and reflection of the patriarchal structures and inequalities embedded in the “adult world.”
Just like the focus group of Liliana’s project, LGBTQ+ community, the film set locations are somehow transformed, and reorganized by humans and social structures. They don’t belong to the city spaces but exist on the margins of these structures.
We are excited to see Liliana grow and continue the project despite the unusual circumstances! Stay tuned for more updates on 2021 EMAP/EMARE and Liliana Piskorska (Zeic).
