What does mortality mean in a time when nothing ever truly disappears?

Join us in embroidering insects for The Order of Disappearance, a collective embroidery project developed as part of the artistic research project Don’t Forget to Die. Together, we will stitch insects associated with the natural decomposition of the body — symbols of transformation and rebirth.

As we work, we will share our research into transience, memory and digital traces. Through readings and shared reflections, the project creates a space for exchange and contemplation, exploring new forms of ritual and connection. Over the course of a year, the work will travel to different locations before culminating in an exhibition.

As an artist-in-residence at GUM & Botanical Garden, playField explores the intersections between art and science.

PlayField

PlayField is an art collective founded by Lana and Marthe Schneider. They create performances, installations and participatory projects at the intersection of art, science and technology. Their work is driven by contemporary social issues and explores how artistic and scientific methodologies can challenge and enrich one another. By introducing new rules of play and questioning existing systems, PlayField creates space for doubt, imagination and collective reflection. PlayField is currently the resident artistic collective at the GUM & Botanical Garden.
