Infocry
Fantastic Little Splash (2024)
How does collective voice emerge when online speech is scripted by bots? Infocry is a chorus machine that sonifies the voices of “social bots” and paid actors engaged in Coordinated Inauthentic Behavior. Referencing the Greek chorus, the work transforms propaganda into sound, staging a simulation of collectivity that is both spectral and unsettling. In its current version, Infocry incorporates Dutch datasets on information threats, analyzed with Osavul software and the Digital Methods Summer School, UvA (2025).
