Opening Festival Exhibition 2026
Techno-Ancestrality
The opening of this exhibition begins at IMPAKT [Centre for Media Culture] and continues afterwards at BAK Basecamp. Visitors first gather at IMPAKT for part one of the opening, after which the event moves to Basecamp for the second part.
Spread across the two venues, the exhibition brings together works that approach technology not as a story of accelerated progress, but as a layered field of ancestral memory, inscription, and survival. Textile, script, ceramic, image, sound, and data appear as intertwined carriers of knowledge through which traditions move, adapt, and endure across generations, landscapes, and communities. Together the works point to an expanded understanding of technics—one that precedes the digital and extends beyond the industrial.
Throughout the opening, participating artists will be present to briefly introduce their works and share insights into the ideas, materials, and contexts that shape their practices.
