Revealing a personal history through the evidence of body marks, and at the same time undermining the commodified image of spotless female beauty, this work presents the relation in which the inner self relates to the outer world through skin and touch. As an audience, how do we feel the personal pain inflicted on her body? Is it by hearing what she says about it or by looking at the scars themselves?
