In his iconic work, Bruce Conner turned declassified US National Archive footage of the Bikini Atoll bomb tests into an assemblage. Shot from various angles, the explosions slowly form mushroom clouds at the horizon, unfolding an atomic sublime. With over 700 camera’s on-site, it was the most photographed event in human history.
