Inch’Allah

Ria Pacquée (Belgium, 2005, video, 18:40)

Ria Pacquée’s Inch’Allah moves as a fluid mosaic of fleeting moments, actions, and encounters, capturing fragments of everyday experience without establishing a comfortable, teleological narrative. Individual lives and actions resonate across each other, creating a sense of connection that is felt and perhaps imagined, rather than concretely named. Intimacy here is permeable, and relationships are implied through observation, movement, and visual harmony rather than articulated dialogue, reflecting a state of suspension where affect circulates without resolution.  By assembling fragments into an associative mosaic, Inch’Allah shows how personal experiences extend beyond the self, how connection can exist without mutuality or recognition, and how meaning emerges from what is left unresolved and undefined.
